Celebrating One Year of Rockfield
This time last year we were nervously getting ready to open our doors to the public and launching our Dry and Pink Gin. It’s been a busy but amazing year, and we are very proud of what we have achieved in such a small space of time. To celebrate our first birthday, we want to take you back to the beginning and show you our highlights!
Building a Distillery
It all started with getting the keys to Unit 3, Rockfield Industrial Estate. Building the bottling room, installing Doris our still and designing our unique experience room.
First Batch of Gin
Developing and perfecting a recipe for our Pink and Dry Gins took a lot of trial and error. We invited friends and family to help us blind taste different recipes. Did you know it took 70 attempts to get the Pink Gin just right!
Launching our Pink and Dry Gin
The design of our bottles were inspired by the Herefordshire countryside. We wanted to encapsulate the “The Spirit of Hereford” into the design. Our Dry and Pink Gin were launched in May
Opening our Distillery Doors to the public
We opened our doors to the public with a distillery shop and the launch of our experiences. Our gin making and tasting classes have proved very popular ever since.
Release of Spiced Rum
We released our spiced rum in November. A rich, velvety spirit made with a special blend of spices.
Release of Flavoured Gins
In the December we released four flavoured gins: Lemon, Orange, Raspberry and Rhubarb and Elderflower. Have you tried them all?
People’s Choice Awards
Rockfield Dry Gin was awarded Silver in the category of Classic G&T at the People’s Choice Spirits Awards.
The Gin Guide Awards – Highly Commended
We made it as a finalist in the Gin Guide Awards this month. Rockfield Dry Gin was highly commended and we were given a special mention in the “New Distillery Category”. What a wonderful end to our first year!
It has been an eventful year and we really couldn’t have done it without our amazing suppliers, stockists, customers, friends and family so thank you to everyone who helped and supported us along the way.
